Cursing

Cursing
Invoking curses is a significant ability attributed to shamans in many cultures. It may either be thought of positively (as a means of protecting a shaman’s community, perhaps as a form of combat against enemies) or negatively (as a sanction against disrespect within the community or an aspect of sorcery). This is part of the ambiguity of shamans and their activities in many cultures. The specific form and method of cursing employed, or suspected of being employed, varies.
